Ruckus Wi-Fi heatmap planner: AP placement and coverage forecast
Upload your floor plan, mark the walls and see where Ruckus access points give you the signal you need. The planner covers 8 Ruckus models: 5 Wi-Fi 6, 3 Wi-Fi 7.

Checked specifications for Ruckus
7 of 8 Ruckus models have been checked against the manufacturer's datasheet or spec page, or against a retailer listing that quotes it. Streams and peak antenna gain below are the manufacturer's published figures; the planner derives transmit power, throughput and client capacity from them. Last review: 9 October 2026.
| Model | Wi-Fi | Streams 2.4 / 5 / 6 GHz | Peak gain dBi 2.4 / 5 / 6 GHz | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| R550 | Wi-Fi 6 | 2 / 2 / — | 3 / 3 / — | Vendor datasheet or spec page |
| R650 | Wi-Fi 6 | 2 / 4 / — | 3 / 3 / — | Vendor datasheet or spec page |
| R750 | Wi-Fi 6 | 4 / 4 / — | 3 / 3 / — | Vendor datasheet or spec page |
| R850 | Wi-Fi 6 | 4 / 8 / — | 2 / 2 / — | Vendor datasheet or spec page |
| R670 | Wi-Fi 7 | 2 / 2 / 2 | 3 / 4 / 4 | Vendor datasheet or spec page |
| R575 | Wi-Fi 7 | 2 / 2 / 2 | 3 / 4 / 4 | Vendor datasheet or spec page |
| R770 | Wi-Fi 7 | 2 / 4 / 4 | 3 / 4 / 4 | Vendor datasheet or spec page |
Among the checked models the widest 5 GHz radio is 8 spatial streams (R850). More streams raise the data rate a single client can reach and the capacity of the access point, but they do not extend range by themselves; antenna gain and transmit power set the range.
Not yet checked, so the planner marks them est.: R350. Treat their numbers as family-level estimates and confirm the datasheet before buying.
How to plan a Ruckus network
- Upload a PNG, JPG or WebP floor plan and set its scale.
- Choose the design band and a minimum RSSI. About -65 dBm suits voice and video.
- Draw glass, drywall, brick, concrete and lift-core walls.
- Select Ruckus and calculate. The tool recommends a model and quantity from your floor size, clients and throughput.
- Move access points on the map, then export the AP list or a report.
Questions about Ruckus planning
Does the planner support Ruckus access points?
Yes. It includes 8 Ruckus models (5 Wi-Fi 6, 3 Wi-Fi 7). Pick the brand and let the tool recommend a model and quantity, or enter your own model mix.
Can I plan 6 GHz coverage with Ruckus?
Yes, for 3 of the 8 models listed here: R670, R575, R770.
Where do the Ruckus specs in the planner come from?
7 of 8 Ruckus models are checked against the vendor datasheet or spec page; the rest use Ruckus's family specification and are marked est. in the planner. The planner turns Wi-Fi generation, spatial streams and antenna gain into transmit power, throughput and client capacity for the band and channel width you choose. Check the current datasheet before you buy.
How accurate is a Ruckus Wi-Fi heatmap forecast?
It is a predictive planning estimate based on distance, wall attenuation, band and the published datasheet specifications of the Ruckus model you choose. Confirm it with an on-site survey before buying or installing Ruckus equipment.
Signal Plan is not affiliated with Ruckus; brand and model names belong to their owners. Read the AP placement guide and the RSSI guide before you buy.
